My favorite place is somewhere that I have been twice, and it is the most visually stunning place that I have ever seen. Hawaii, as I am sure all of you know, is a collection of islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The first time I visited the islands I went to Oahu with my mother and cousin when I was 10 years old, and I quickly fell in love with it. We stayed in an awesome time share a block away from the beach, where we spent most of our time. We also saw a lot of the tourist attractions, like Pearl Harbor and a Luau, and even spent some time learning to surf. It was a truly amazing trip that definitely left me wanting more.
My love for Hawaii was rekindled last year when I took my wife to Oahu for her first time out of California. She was terrified to get on a plane for her first time, but the look on her face as the plane started its decent and we got a glimpse of the island made it clear that all of the fear and anxiety was worth it. If it was up to me, I probably would have chosen a different island like Maui or The Big Island, since I had already seen most of the touristy stuff in Oahu, but since she was interested in Pearl Harbor and she had a friend that lived on the island we decided to make it our destination. Needless to say, she absolutely loved our trip, and I was even able to explore things that I hadn't on my first time there. Along with the touristy stuff, we got to see an amazing waterfall on a hike we went on, got to explore the North Shore, and got thrown around by some crazy waves at Sandy Beach.
After sadly returning home, we decided that we would absolutely be heading back in the future, but to another more relaxing island like Maui. I am really glad that I got a chance to see Hawaii again, and I was even happier that my wife equally shared my love for my favorite place.
I love Hawaii. I've never been to Oahu, though, so I appreciated hearing what you like about it. It's so exciting that your wife's first trip off the mainland was to such a beautiful place!
