Time Strategies

Time management is one of the hardest part about getting used to online courses. In traditional schooling it is easy because you know when you have class and when you will be turning things in each week. In online courses, you have to make sure to keep on top of your work because the only reminders you have is by checking in online. Luckily for me, I have taken many online courses and kind of have it down. One good thing about online courses is that a lot of times you can work ahead to ease the stress later on down the road, and that is one thing I really like about this course.

I am currently unemployed waiting for work through my union, so I am going to take advantage of all of this time off that I have to work as far ahead as possible in this course. I have bookmarked the course calendar as well as the reading calendar in my browser, and will make sure to keep up on my reading. When I am working, I like to do most of my school work on the weekends, because those are my days off. Because of this, I think that in this course I will be tying to get all of my work done each weekend for the following week, that way I don't have to stress about due dates. I'm also going to pick up a planner and copy all of the calendar information onto it to make it more easily accessible. I like that work seems fairly straightforward and uniform week to week, and I think that will make it much easier to stay on schedule. I also liked how the. points are broken down exactly what you need to do to earn each grade. All in all, I think that I will do OK keeping on track with this course this semester.
